We are really enjoying our finger gym activities. Below are some photographs of us doing them today.
Today we have started doing ‘Finger Gym.’ We have worked sitting at a table (just like the Year 1 children do) carrying out activities that will help to strengthen our fingers and thumbs, and in turn help us with our writing and letter formation. There are 4 activities this week that each of us will do. We work in our house colour groups and will do finger gym four times a week; after morning playtime on a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The activities this week are: popping bubble wrap, making Lego mini-figures, making shapes and other things using pipe cleaners and seeing how many times you could click a pen on and off. We were brilliant at these activities today and got the last marble for our marble jar. Yippee!
Today your child should have brought home a letter explaining what they will be covering in phonics for this half term. The letter also contains information about the phonics phase your child is currently working in and the one they will move on to.
I hope you have had a lovely half term break and are looking forward to coming back to school.
Tomorrow, Monday 24th February is an INSET day. The children do not return to school until Tuesday 25th February.
We can’t wait to see you all and hear about the things you have been doing.
