Our star of the week this week is Sam. Sam has been trying very hard with his reading and is making lovely progress. We are enjoying lying down on the carpet sharing Sam’s book with him. Not only has Sam been reading brilliantly, he is also embracing the start of the school day in a much more positive way. It is a fantastic start to the day when he bounces into school with a big smile on his face. Well done Sam!
Mrs D. Mrs D came with a bag full of books for us to choose from. It was wet at lunchtime and at last play today, so Mrs Hart thought we would be very fidgety during our storytelling time. However, we were brilliant listeners and thoroughly enjoyed the stories. We listened to; ‘Sharing a Shell’, ‘Eat Your Peas’, ‘Monkey Puzzle’ and a story about ‘Mr Bump.’ Thank you Mrs D for reading lots of wonderful stories to us today.
Mrs J. We knew that Mrs J was coming to read to us today because a little birdie had told us! Mrs J read 2 stories to us. The first one was ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea.’ It was a super story that we all love. The second one was ‘Superworm.’ This was a very special book as it had been signed by the author, Julia Donaldson. Thank you Mrs J for reading to us today.
Mrs W. Mrs W read two books to us. We did ask for a third one but unfortunately we didn’t have time. The first story that we listened to was ‘Room on a Broom.’ Lots of us have this story at home and enjoyed joining in with the actions and the words. Our second story was ‘Class Two at the Zoo.’ This was another fantastic story. In the story the anaconda ate the teacher! SB asked Mrs Carter whether that animal (the anaconda) was a real animal. Thank you Mrs W for reading to us today.
